Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Team Manager for Stockport Community Mental Health Team. You will support the team manager, coordinate activities, and ensure cohesive service delivery for adults with complex mental health needs.

The role requires post‑registration experience in community mental health, leadership abilities, and the ability to supervise multi-disciplinary teams. A commitment to high‑quality care and safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, or Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with HCPC or NMC as applicable.
  • Experience delivering community mental health services and care planning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CMHT team manager in coordinating the team to meet objectives.
  • Act as named worker for a reduced caseload with complex needs; provide holistic assessments and care plans.
  • Lead on risk assessments, interventions, and care planning in line with Trust standards.

An opportunity has arisen for a deputy team manager within a Community Mental Health, providing specialist mental health care to the population of Stockport. The Secondary Care CMHT support residents with severe and enduring mental health conditions. population we serve.

This an exciting time for Stockport CMHT. We are currently undergoing a transformation within our service as part of the National Transformations of community services and the local Living Well developments. It is an opportunity to be part of our service development, with planned investment in our staff and new role development.

The CMHT work with people aged 16 and over with severe and enduring mental health and social care needs.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the CMHT team manager in managing and coordinating the Community Mental Health Team and ensuring that the team works cohesively and meets its objectives in the most effective and efficient way,

The post-holder will act as a named worker for a reduced caseload of mental health service users who have complex needs.

providing holistic assessment, interventions, risk assessments and care plans.

To support the team manager in ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with the Professionals Code of Conduct and reflects the requirements of Pennine Care.

Education/Qualifications
  • Professional qualification Social Work / Mental Health Nursing / Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with HCPC / NMC
  • Short courses and / or experience to post graduate diploma level.

Experience
  • Proven post registration experience working in community mental health services
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of working with services user with Psychosis and severe/complex common mental illness
  • Experience of coordinating complex packages of care
