A local government authority in the UK is seeking a motivated Deputy Team Manager to lead within Adult Social Care. This role involves supervising a dedicated team, ensuring high-quality care delivery, and supporting the Team Manager. The ideal candidate will have post-qualifying experience, a recognised social work qualification, and a deep understanding of relevant legislation such as the Care Act. Salary: £47,181 – £50,269 a year plus £3,203 car benefit allowance plus £3,500 Market Rate Supplement.

Operating within a supportive environment, you will get to work flexibly with our diverse communities and ultimately play a key role in driving performance and supporting staff.
In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Team Managers in leading and developing a dedicated team working across a specific geographical area and/or service area. You will provide expert guidance, supervision, and support to ensure practice is in line with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
You are a dedicated and experienced adult social care professional with extensive post-qualifying experience and a strong background in reflective practice and service-specific knowledge. You bring a deep understanding of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and other key legislation and guidance, with a clear commitment to embedding this into everyday practice.
With a proven track record in managing and developing staff, you are confident in leading learning initiatives, setting clear standards, monitoring quality, and challenging practice to drive continuous improvement. You have experience in financial oversight, supporting your team in delivering outcome-focused, strengths-based, and cost-effective assessments and support plans.
You’re a confident leader who can support the Team Manager in motivating a high-performing team, representing the service at both internal and external meetings, and working collaboratively across services. Your approach is partnership-focused and integrated, with the goal of achieving the best possible outcomes for individuals and the wider community.
You hold a recognised Social Work qualification registered with Social Work England, or a professional qualification in nursing or occupational therapy, alongside substantial and relevant post-qualifying experience in adult social care.
