Job summary

A leading retail company in Dudley is seeking a Deputy Store Manager to help maximize sales and ensure excellent customer service. In this role, you'll manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager and lead your team to meet and exceed targets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities. This position offers a competitive salary, 30-35 days of holiday, in-store discounts, and ongoing training.

In this incredibly varied role, you'll help manage a store that's better and more successful than ever before. You'll take real pride in maximising sales, ensuring great customer service, minimising costs, and optimising operational efficiency. You'll also enjoy great responsibility while the Store Manager is absent, taking ownership of the store and leading by example to support your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise turnover to exceed required targets and identify opportunities to continually improve performance.
  • Manage and motivate the performance of the team to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.
  • Be a strong presence on the shop floor to drive customer engagement and sales.
  • Independently manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Diligently check and work deliveries, manage the till area, and monitor KPIs.
  • Be a friendly face for every customer, offering excellent service and helping with all customer queries.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Excellent communication skills to help your colleagues and customers in a friendly and open way.
  • A knack for time management, delegation, and problem‑solving.
  • The confidence to support your team through every shift.
Benefits & Compensation
  • Salary: £36,000 – £44,500 per annum (variable).
