An exciting opportunity has arisen for a deputy sister/charge nurse to join our friendly, highly motivated, dynamic and hard-working Emergency Gynaecology team on A23 at QMC campus of NUH. A passion for the delivery of high quality care is essential for supporting the needs of our patients. As a band 6 you will be required to be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate others and deputise in the absence of the senior leadership team.
This deputy sister/charge nurse role is essential to provide safe and effective running of the A23 clinical area, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. The role involves providing direct care to patients as well as strong clinical leadership. You must be empathic to the emotional needs of the women and their families attending GTU and A23. As a deputy sister/charge nurse you will be expected to provide expert knowledge of gynae and early pregnancy complications on a 24/7 basis, working all shift patterns including nights.
This post is suitable for staff who have emergency gynae and early pregnancy knowledge and experience. You must be confident and clinically competent to manage all areas of the service on a daily basis.

A23 is a 16 bedded inpatient area caring for women experiencing gynaecological concerns and complications in early pregnancy. The team on the unit are exceptionally proud of what we do every day and we look forward to working with you. We work closely with AGTU which is our emergency triage area.
