Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new position working alongside our Service Manager. You will work alongside the Service Manager to ensure the efficient delivery of services across the Service Department, deputising in the Service Managers absence.

Suitable candidates will have demonstrable and successful experience within an NHS organisation.

Personal attributes include resilience, flexibility, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the credibility to work collaboratively with clinicians, senior management, staff and key stakeholders across the system, to build excellent and productive relationships.

As the role requires travel to our Boroughwide locations a clean full UK driving licence is a must.

Main duties of the job

The service department plays a vital role in enabling Wigan GP Alliance to support delivery to our Borough in both Primary and Secondary Care.

The role of service is to ensure staffing, internal and external, compliance, service operations, rota management, etc for our core services from multiple hub locations across the Borough throughout evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Travelling around the Borough ensuring our locations and service delivery are of the highest standards.

The role is to support and lead on ensuring all our services are delivered to the highest possible quality standards.

About us

Wigan GP Alliance is a well-established Primary Care provider within the Borough of Wigan and Leigh, established in 2015 to respond to the Prime Ministers Challenge Fund. The Alliance has grown to deliver its core services and extended its delivery to provide many more services and additional support for the whole Borough, reacting when required to in time of need.

We provide services across the whole Borough to a number of fixed and mobile locations.

Job responsibilities

The service department plays a vital role in enabling Wigan GP Alliance to support delivery to our Borough in both Primary and Secondary Care. The successful individual will report directly to the Service Manager and deputise in their absence.

The role of service is to ensure staffing, internal and external, compliance, service operations, rota management, etc for our core services from multiple hub locations across the Borough throughout evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

The role is to support and lead on ensuring all our services are delivered to the highest possible quality standards.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Good standard of English and Maths with A to C minimum at GCSE level.
  • Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with TPP/ SystmOne
Experience
  • Working in a healthcare organisation within a service type role.
  • Working within NHS services Operating clinical IT systems.
