Overview

Our client, a leading provider of residential care for children in Reading, Berkshire, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Residential Children Home Manager to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Residential Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the home, while providing exceptional care and support to the children in our client's care. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Residential Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, including managing a team of care staff and ensuring high standards of care.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for each child, working collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other relevant stakeholders to meet the children’s needs.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to the care team, promoting a positive and safe environment for children.
  • Identify and address issues proactively, think creatively to find solutions in the best interests of the children.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a residential care setting, preferably with children.
  • A relevant professional qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • A thorough understanding of the relevant legislation and regulations governing residential care for children.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
