Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking a Deputy Registrar to join the Registration Service in Southport and Waterloo. The role involves registering births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, and conducting ceremonies with a welcoming, professional approach.

You will support the Superintendent Registrar, manage a varied workload, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements while providing empathetic service to residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Register births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in accordance with legislation and guidance.
• Conduct marriage, civil partnership and citizenship ceremonies with a welcoming and professional approach.
• Assist with registration across Southport and Waterloo Register Offices and deputise for the Superintendent Registrar when required.
• Ensure registrations and documentation are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when supporting customers in difficult circumstances.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partners to deliver the Registration Service and manage priorities and complex processes.
