Deputy Nursery Manager – Term Time Only (9am–3pm)

Location: Hounslow, TW5

Hours: Term Time Only, Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm

Salary: £15 per hour

Setting: Small nursery registered for 25 children

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join our friendly nursery in Hounslow (TW5). This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a small, close-knit setting registered for 25 children, where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential.

As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, maintaining high standards of care, education, and compliance in line with EYFS requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence.
  • Oversee the smooth daily operation of the nursery.
  • Lead, support, and motivate the staff team to deliver outstanding early years practice.
  • Ensure high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children.
  • Plan and implement stimulating, age-appropriate activities indoors and outdoors.
  • Carry out joint and peer observations to support staff development.
  • Work closely with Room Leaders to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, sharing information effectively.
  • Support staff training, supervision, and appraisals.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and planning sessions.
Person Specification
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Third-in-Charge, or Acting Deputy Manager is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • A caring, professional, and enthusiastic approach to early years education.
