Job description

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while maintaining excellence in your base room responsibilities. You will:

  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education with pride and energy.
  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Act as a role model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children.
  • Monitor and guide the team's implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Nursery Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development within your team.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that respects the unique needs of every child.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing. To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification and have previous supervisory or deputy experience.

Pay: Up to £28,704 per Annum, based on experience (40 hours per week). Working Hours: 37.5 to 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – Flexible shifts either 4 full days 8am‑6pm (40hrs), or 3 full days and 2 half days (37.5hrs).
