Job description

The post holder will operate in a supportive role to the Nurse Bank manager, assisting in the provision of temporary staffing bank and agency, initially for nursing and midwifery teams and for other staff groups with the Belfast Trust as the service expands. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all regulatory requirements for clinical governance for bank only nurses and midwives are met, for example: mandatory training, NMC compliance, to ensure that clinical practice is in accordance with NMC Code and the Scope of Professional Practice. Support the management of recruitment, induction and ongoing professional development of bank staff. Build the reputation of the nurse bank as an efficient and high quality service. Maintain and update records for all bank and agency staff where incidents are arising and staff performance forms are being submitted. Support the Nurse Bank Manager in providing monthly assurance reports to Service Improvement Lead Bank Roster in relation to staff performance. Work closely with the E Roster Management team in relation to ensuring correct management of staffing within all areas across the Trust. Network across all areas within the Belfast Trust and build up partnerships between the nurse bank and service areas.

Responsibilities
  • NMC registration quality/governance checks, including updating E-Roster with new NMC dates.
  • Quality assure and assist with registered nurse and non registered staff statutory and mandatory education requirements to ensure safe delivery of care and in accordance with the Trust Statutory and Mandatory Training Policy.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse on Part 1, Level 1 of the NMC Register.
  • 3 years’ post-registration experience at Band 5 or above.
