Deputy Medical Laboratory Assistant Manager Band 4

Contract

37 hours - Permanent. With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.

Overview

This is an opportunity for an experienced individual to work as the Deputy Manager for Medical Laboratory assistants in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside.

Department

The Medical Microbiology Laboratory is based in Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School in Dundee. The department is a UKAS accredited Medical Laboratory and holds the Institute of Biomedical Science and NHS Education Scotland as a training approval.

Qualifications

Applicants must have experience of working within a laboratory environment, have flexibility to work all shifts, including extended working days, weekend and public holidays. Previous leadership experience and ability to manage a team is highly desirable.

Hours

Hours of work are 37 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am and 20.00pm Monday to Friday. The post will include working weekends and public holidays on a rota basis
