Job summary

Highgate Care in Brighouse is seeking a Residential Deputy Manager to lead a compassionate team at Rastrick Hall & Grange. You will support the Home Manager, oversee care planning, medicines, and resident well‑being, while ensuring high standards of safeguarding and documentation.

The role requires warmth, organization and strong leadership, with flexibility across evenings and weekends. NVQ Level 5 or willingness to pursue is expected.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 5 or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience in a similar residential care role.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a care team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support staff to ensure efficient home operations.
  • Audit Care Plan documentation for best practice.
  • Maintain effective communications with the Home Manager.
  • Coordinate with Residents, Relatives and staff as needed.
  • Escalate/incidents and assist with safeguarding alerts.
  • Liaise with GPs and health professionals to support residents.
  • Ensure clear handover reports and staff meetings.
  • Oversee resident care in the Home Manager's absence.
  • Assess new residents' care needs and review existing plans.
  • Monitor meals and dietary requirements for residents.
  • Administer medicines and maintain records per policy.
  • Maintain individualised Care Plans and review bi-annually.

Shifts: 8am - 8pm

Week 1- Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday

Week 2- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

We’re currently looking for a Residential Deputy Manager to join the team at Rastrick hall & grange in Brighouse. What You’ll Be Doing

As our Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:

  • Ensure that all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home, and to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of Residents.
  • Support and assist the Home Manager in auditing Care Plan documentation, to ensure best practice.
  • Maintain effective communications with the Home Manager.
  • As requested by, and/or in the absence of, the Home Manager maintain effective communications with Residents, Relatives, Staff Members, Operations Manager, Divisional Office and any other concerned bodies.
  • Obtain a report from the Person in Charge, and advice the Home Manager, regarding any incident/accident, and the status of any Residents whose care / health is causing concern. Complete CQC & Safeguarding alerts as required.
  • Supervise visits and liaise with GPs in order to establish a good relationship between GPs / Health Care Professionals and the Care Home.
  • Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all Staff Members.
  • Arrange / participate in Staff and Resident meetings as and when required
  • Take responsibility for Resident care, as designated by the Home Manager in his / her absence and the absence of the Deputy Home Manager.
  • Assess social and health care needs of new Residents, and maintain on-going assessment and review of all other Residents.
  • Report any ill-health amongst Residents and make requests for GP / Professional visits where necessary.
  • Ensure meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that Resident’s dietary needs are met.
  • Administer prescribed medicines and maintain the appropriate records in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that each Resident within the Home has an individualised Care Plan. Resident Care Plans to be reviewed on a bi-annual basis, or more frequently as and when required, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures
  • Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Residents’ personal and financial affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with Residents.
