  • Either hold a UK driving licence or currently learning.

  • Provide strong leadership to a team of SSWs and RSWs.

  • Assist with compliance, audits, and Ofsted readiness.

This is a specialist provider of children’s and adult services focused on delivering compassionate, therapeutic care for individuals with complex needs, including learning disabilities. Their growing portfolio includes both Ofsted and CQC‑registered homes, with plans to open two more children’s homes imminently. With a strong emphasis on team support, hands‑on leadership, and promoting from within, this is a great environment for those seeking to make a long‑term impact while progressing in their career.

Role Overview

As Deputy Manager, you will focus on one specific 2‑bed children’s home (LD), supporting young people with learning disabilities. You will help lead the team, embed a positive culture, and maintain high standards of care and compliance. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and, when required, support sister homes within close proximity. Initially, you will also play a key role in setting up and preparing new homes before they officially open.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day‑to‑day running of a 2‑bed children’s home (LD)
  • Provide strong leadership to a team of SSWs and RSWs
  • Promote a positive, therapeutic environment
  • Assist with compliance, audits, and Ofsted readiness
  • Help onboard new staff and maintain morale
  • Actively contribute to planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding
  • Join the 1 in 6 on‑call weekend rota
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care (essential)
  • Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 in progress, completed, or willingness to enrol
  • Experience supporting children with learning disabilities preferred
  • Confident communicator and supportive leader
  • Either hold a UK driving licence or currently learning
