Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in supporting children and young people within a residential care setting. You will assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and wellbeing in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in managing the daily operations of the home.
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, care planning, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and review risk assessments, behaviour management plans, and reports.
  • Act as a role model, promoting a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager as required.
  • Support training, supervision, and development of team members.
Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Level 5 desirable.
  • Significant experience working with children and young people in residential care.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and care regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
