Deputy Manager - Children’s Residential (Learning Disabilities & Autism) | Sunderland | £40,000 per annum
Are you passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism? We’re looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a well-established children’s residential service in Sunderland - where every day you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for young people to thrive.
As Deputy Manager, you’ll support the Registered Manager in leading a children’s home that provides high-quality, person-centred care for young people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge.
You’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the home - ensuring the service meets Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) standards while fostering a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to care.
In the absence of the Registered Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the leadership and management of the home, ensuring continuity, safety, and a positive culture throughout.
You’re an experienced care professional who leads with empathy, confidence, and integrity. You understand the unique needs of young people with learning disabilities and autism, and you’re committed to delivering care that truly makes a difference.

You’ll be joining a team that believes in inclusion, integrity, and empowerment - where your work genuinely transforms lives.
All applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the past two years. The employer is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
