Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Manager

Overview

We are recruiting for a Children's Residential Manager Deputy Manager based in Stockport, Greater Manchester on behalf of our client. The role supports the Deputy Manager in day-to-day operations, leads and supervises care staff across shifts, and maintains high standards of safeguarding and therapeutic care. You will also assist with compliance, planning and staff development and act as a role model for young people and staff. Additionally, you will ensure all regulatory and contractual standards are met and exceeded, represent the client effectively, and work in partnership with key local service providers including local NHS bodies and Social Work departments.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Deputy Manager with day-to-day operational duties.
  • Lead and supervise care staff across all shifts while maintaining safeguarding and therapeutic standards.
  • Assist with compliance, planning, and staff development.
  • Act as a role model for both young people and staff.
  • Ensure all regulatory and contractual standards are met and exceeded.
  • Represent the client and collaborate with local authorities, NHS bodies, and Social Work departments.
  • Support the residential manager with budgeting responsibilities.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to build positive relationships with local authorities and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum); Level 5 desirable.
  • Fully enhanced DBS check required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of references.
