Job summary

Simmons Bars, a leading London bar group, is seeking a Deputy Manager to join our venues and uphold high standards for opening/closing, atmosphere, and guest experience. You’ll work closely with the General Manager on stock, staffing, and delivering the bars’ business plan across multiple sites.

The role emphasizes team leadership, compliance with licensing, safety, and delivering memorable customer experiences, with progression opportunities as many managers have been promoted internally.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the venue to the correct standards and in line with company policy.
• Managing the atmosphere on shift to ensure venues are clean, music and lighting at proper levels, and comfortable for customers.
• Delivering a memorable experience at all times and engaging with customers to gain insights.
• Operating the venues within the limits of its licence.
• Working with the General Manager on stock management to deliver sales and GP targets.
• Completing daily duties with a focus on customer experience.
• Reporting and resolving serious incidents and escalating to the General Manager when necessary.
• Maintaining a safe work environment and reporting issues immediately.
• Keeping accurate records of incidents and reporting per company policy.
• Deputising for the GM when they are out of the business.
• Completing projects allocated by the General Manager to deliver the bars business plan.
• Conducting job chats and investigations with guidance from the People Team.
• Collaborating with the General Manager on recruiting and retaining the best team for your venue.
• Overseeing the training of Bar and Assistant Managers.
• Completing all reasonable requests from line managers.

Who We Are

The Deputy Manager we’re looking for needs to be:

• Opening and closing the venue to the correct standards and in line with company policy
• Managing the atmosphere on shift to ensure that the venues are clean, the music and lighting are at the correct levels and the temperature is comfortable for customers
• Delivering a memorable experience at all times and engaging with customers in an effort to gain their insights
• Operating the venues within the limits of its licence
• Working with the General Manager on managing stock to deliver sales and GP targets
• Completing all daily duties with an emphasis on ensuring that customer experience is the highest priority
• Report and resolve any serious incidents incidents/accidents and escalate to the General Manager when necessary
• Maintaining a safe work environment at all times and reporting issues immediately
• Keep accurate records of all incidents and report in line with company policy
• Deputising for the GM when they are out of the business
• Completing specific projects allocated by the General Manager with a view to delivering the bars business plan
