Job summary

Bright Horizons Elizabeth Terrace Nursery in Eltham, London, is seeking a Deputy Manager. You will lead a small team, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, and uphold safeguarding and child protection standards.

The role supports partnerships with parents and Local Authority, and contributes to nursery budgets and occupancy targets. You will require a Level 3+ Early Years qualification and prior leadership experience in early years settings.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience within an Early Years leadership role (e.g., Deputy Manager or similar).
• Experience participating in regulatory inspections leading to Good/Outstanding outcomes.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection and wider regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, support and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and oversee safeguarding policies.
• Contribute to safeguarding training, partnerships with parents and professionals, and staff development plans.
• Support nursery commercial success through retention, occupancy growth and budgeting.
