Salutem Care and Education is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading our children's residential home. You will uphold high standards of care, safeguard, and trauma-informed practice.
You will lead staff, manage day-to-day operations, oversee care plans, risk assessments, and quality assurance, and contribute to recruitment, supervision, and training while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe, nurturing environments for children and young people.
As one of the UK's leading providers of specialist care, education, and support services, we deliver life-changing outcomes for children, young people, and adults across England and Wales. From residential care and supported living services to schools and colleges, our teams work every day to help individuals achieve their ambitions, maximise their independence, and realise their potential.
We are proud to be recognised as a Top Employer United Kingdom 2026 and one of the Top 10 Global Inspiring Workplaces 2026—a reflection of our commitment to creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Within Salutem, our Children’s Services division provides high-quality, specialist care for children and young people across a range of settings, including residential care, solo placements, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) services, learning disability support, and supported accommodation
Our approach is rooted in being trauma-informed. We recognise that many of the children and young people we support have experienced trauma—whether through single events or ongoing experiences such as abuse or neglect—which can have a lasting impact on their emotional, social, physical, and psychological wellbeing. Every individual experiences trauma differently, and we are committed to understanding and responding to those unique needs.
Our teams are trained to understand the principles of trauma through the “3 E’s” framework: Event, Experience, and Effect. This means recognising not just what has happened to a young person, but how they have experienced it and the impact it has had on them.
By embedding a trauma-informed approach into everything we do, our staff are able to adapt their support, build trusting relationships, and create safe, nurturing environments where children and young people can begin to recover, develop resilience, and thrive.
At Salutem, we are passionate about making a lasting difference—supporting every child and young person to feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
We believe every child and young person has the potential to grow, achieve, and build a positive future. Through a trauma-informed and relationship-based approach, we create safe, nurturing environments where young people can develop resilience, learn essential life skills, and gain the confidence needed to make positive choices.
Our team is committed to providing high-quality, child-centred care that empowers young people to thrive. We value compassion, ambition, transparency, and meaningful engagement in everything we do.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the leadership and day-to-day running of our children's residential home.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to delivering outstanding care and helping young people achieve positive outcomes. You will play a key role in leading staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting safeguarding, and embedding trauma-informed practice throughout the home.
Our values shape the way we work. We are Supportive, Ambitious, Loyal, Unique, Transparent, Engaging and Meaningful in everything we do.
At Salutem Care and Education, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of the children, young people, and adults we support, and we expect all colleagues to share this commitment.
All appointments are subject to robust safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (including relevant barred list checks where applicable), satisfactory references, and any other pre-employment checks required for the role.
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who share our values and commitment to making a positive difference.
We are committed to ensuring that safeguarding is a top priority. Therefore, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), we will carry out online searches on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence process
