Job summary

University of Leeds invites applications for a skilled Chemical and Process Engineering Technician to support world-class research and teaching. You will oversee the School Analytical and Research laboratories and the teaching space, including facilities for particle characterisation, sorption, rheology and interfacial tension.

You will work with students, researchers and academics to advise on experimental techniques, practical lab requirements and the use and purchase of specialist equipment,

We are looking for a professional and proactive individual with a good team working ethos to join our technical team in the School of Chemical and Process Engineering and to act as first point of contact to ensure a professional technical service is provided.

In this varied and interesting role, you will strengthen our research and teaching capabilities by providing specialised technical expertise, overseeing the running of the School Analytical and Research laboratories and teaching space (including facilities for particle characterisation, sorption, rheology and interfacial tension) and leading the management and development of our team of technicians. As well as the day-to-day technical management, you will work with students, researchers, and academics, to provide advice and support on experimental techniques and methods, the practical requirements of laboratories and courses, and the use and purchase of specialist equipment.
