Job summary

Bright Selection Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a four-bed children's residential home in Redhill, Surrey, supporting young people affected by complex trauma.

The home is Ofsted Good, and the role is split roughly 50% management and 50% direct care, leading shifts, safeguarding, care planning, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Experience in children's residential care with safeguarding and care planning exposure.
• Experience leading shifts and supporting staff development.
• Ability to work in a Good-rated home with a focus on complex trauma and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of the home
• Lead shifts and deputise for the Home Manager
• Provide direct care and support to young people
• Support safeguarding, care planning and regulatory compliance
• Supervise, mentor and develop staff
• Assist with rotas, audits and quality assurance
• Support recruitment and staff stability

Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home

Location: Redhill, Surrey

Salary: £39,500-£42,500 plus Ofsted bonus

Bright Selection is recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a four-bed children's residential home supporting young people affected by complex trauma and exploitation risks.

The home is operational and rated Good by Ofsted. It is led by an experienced Home Manager with a strong history of developing team members into management positions.

This is a hands-on role split approximately 50% between management duties and direct work with the young people. The successful candidate will help to lead shifts, support the development of the staff team and maintain a safe, consistent and therapeutic environment.

The role will include:

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the home
• Leading shifts and deputising for the Home Manager
• Providing direct care and support to young people
• Supporting safeguarding, care planning and regulatory compliance
• Supervising, mentoring and developing staff
• Assisting with rotas, audits and quality assurance
• Supporting the continued recruitment and stability of the team
• Promoting positive outcomes for young people with complex needs

Essential requirements:

• Level 3 Residential Childcare or Children and Young People's Workforce
• At least two years' experience working within a children's residential home
• Previous senior or supervisory experience
• Experience supporting young people affected by complex trauma
• Strong safeguarding knowledge
• The ability to lead shifts and provide confident support to the staff team
• A flexible, resilient and child-focused approach
