About the Role

If successful, you will be joining a very hard-working team of professionals who are supportive of each other and keen to continue the excellent work of the school over recent years. The school was last inspected by the Catholic School Inspectorate in March 2024 and OFSTED in June 2025. These reports highlighted standards had both been maintained and improved since the previous inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Be passionate and committed to enhancing the full range of children's educational experiences at St Mary’s
  • Be enthusiastic, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards are met by pupils and colleagues

The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

  • Has completed the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) or the Catholic Teachers Certificate (CTC) or has a commitment to do so
  • Has completed the Catholic Leadership Programme (CLP) or has a commitment to do so
Essential Experience
  • Practising Catholic with a sound understanding of the distinctive nature of Catholic schools and Catholic education
  • A knowledge and understanding of all key stages provided in the school
  • To be able to use data, assessment and target setting effectively to raise standards/address weaknesses
  • Experience of providing professional challenge and support to others through the appraisal process
Desirable Experience
  • Involvement in parish community
  • Experience of teaching in more than one secondary school
  • Experience of teaching in a Catholic secondary school
  • Experience of working effectively with a strong governing body
