A governmental veterinary agency in the UK is seeking a Deputy Head of the Supply Team to oversee the assessment of veterinary medicines. The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK.
We have a vacancy for a Deputy Head of the Supply Team.
This exciting and interesting job puts you at the heart of the VMD's Supply Team within the Regulatory Affairs section of the Authorisations division.
As Deputy Head of the Supply Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the assessment of product literature, the production of public assessment reports, assessment of applications submitted under the Special Import Scheme and management of supply issue notifications. You will line manage four team members to ensure continued delivery of application work in accordance with VMD's Published Standards and internal targets.
The Supply Team is one of two teams within the Regulatory Affairs Section, which sits within the Authorisations Division. You will therefore contribute to the timely authorisation of applications for veterinary medicinal products and provide a pivotal point of liaison between both VMD assessment teams and external stakeholders.
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field e.g. veterinary, animal health, life sciences.
