We seek to appoint a dynamic and inspiring teacher of Mathematics to the position of Deputy Head of Mathematics. This is an exceptional opportunity to help lead one of the country’s largest and most successful school Mathematics departments.

Working closely with the Head of Mathematics, the postholder will play a key role in shaping departmental strategy, advising on curriculum development, and overseeing the coordination of Middle School Mathematics (Years 9–11). They will model outstanding classroom practice, promote the sharing of effective pedagogy, and help ensure that every pupil experiences a challenging and inspiring mathematical education. The role also provides excellent preparation for those aspiring to lead their own Mathematics department in the future.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design, evaluation and review of Schemes of Work for Years 9–11.
  • Managing the transition between Middle and Upper School Mathematics.
  • Overseeing scheduled assessments, data analysis, and academic tracking.
  • Leading on GCSE and A-Level curriculum matters and contributing to admissions testing.
  • Coordinating Middle School enrichment and UKMT competitions.
  • Mentoring trainees and early-career teachers.
  • Supporting the Head of Department in staff appraisal and deputising when required.
