A UK university in Leeds is seeking a Deputy Head of Human Resources to provide strategic support and manage HR operations. The role involves working closely with senior leadership, enhancing team performance, and implementing a new HR service delivery model. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills and relevant HR expertise. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available.
This role is open to University of Leeds employees within the People and Culture directorate only.
This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you looking for a new and challenging role within the University HR team? Are you able to provide strategic support, professional HR expertise and support the Heads of Human Resources? As a Deputy Head of Human Resources, you would be expected to carry an operational workload alongside deputising for the Head of HR. In addition, you will have a development plan to support your development to a Head (or equivalent role).
The University People Services Team are managed through five hubs. These are key roles, both deputising for the relevant Head of HR and providing HR leadership across the hubs. You will strengthen our service leadership and delivery, enhancing both institutional and individual performance, and directly support the delivery of the University’s Strategic aims.
You will work closely with the relevant Head of HR deputising at key meetings (including HRLT) and ensuring the teams have a University wide focus on activities necessary to enhance organisational effectiveness, such as employee engagement, talent management, leadership capacity and capability, and organisational design and culture and you will provide leadership and management for the hub HR teams.
In addition, you will be expected to support the implementation of our new service delivery model as part of the CPS programme, setting the foundations for developing business partnering capability, and implementing a consistent approach to our service activity.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and develop your team of professional colleagues to deliver a high quality and strategically aligned service are essential.
