Deputy Head of Estates – University (Client-Side)

Location: North West England

Salary: £65,000 + Excellent University Benefits

The Role

A leading North West university, based in the Lancashire area, is seeking a Deputy Head of Estates to oversee one main campus and five satellite sites, ensuring exceptional service delivery across FM, estates operations, capital works and compliance. This is a strategic, client-side leadership position with autonomy, influence, and long-term progression.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day estates operations across 6 sites.

Oversee hard & soft FM delivery, compliance, planned works, and H&S.

Support long-term estate strategy, master planning, and sustainability goals.

Manage contractors, service partners, and in-house teams.

Control budgets, lifecycle planning, and procurement.

Drive stakeholder engagement across academic, senior leadership, and operational teams.

Ideal Candidate

Strong estates / FM leadership background in large campuses, hospitals, universities, or multi-site estates.

Excellent compliance and technical understanding.

Client-side experience highly desirable.
