Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Care Home Deputy Manager & Clinical Lead to support the delivery of high-quality care across a care home. You will work closely with the General Manager, stepping into leadership in their absence, and guide a multidisciplinary team to ensure residents enjoy the best possible quality of life.

You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and hold mentoring/supervision qualifications.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration.
• Teaching/mentoring/supervision qualification.
• HR experience and knowledge of sales, marketing, and budget management.
• Experience handling safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Experience supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the care home team to deliver high-quality care.
• Perform audits, supervise clinical practice, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and deliver strategies to improve resident quality of life.
• Motivate multidisciplinary teams and act in the General Manager's absence.
• Role model clinical leadership and ensure safeguarding and risk assessments are in place.

About You

To join us as a Care Home Deputy Manager & Clinical Lead, you'll need be a Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching/mentoring/supervision qualification. Experience in helping residents with different health needs is important too, as is a successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments. We'll also look for some HR experience, a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, an understanding of budget management, and a track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. Finally, you'll be compassionate, resilient and determined to deliver quality care in our engaging and energetic environment.
