Description
At easyJet, our Engineering and Maintenance team is all about pushing boundaries and keeping our fleet flying safely, efficiently, and on time. As a Deputy Duty Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of this fast-paced environment, supporting the Duty Engineer in leading the shift and keeping our aircraft in top condition. You’ll take charge whenever needed, stepping up to ensure that every maintenance activity, planned or unplanned, runs smoothly, meets the highest safety standards, and aligns perfectly with easyJet’s commitment to excellence.
From overseeing maintenance operations and issuing release certificates to making sure every component fitted to our aircraft is approved and properly documented, you’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping Europe’s most reliable fleet ready for take‑off. You’ll also be a key part of the team dynamic, helping manage and motivate engineers to deliver outstanding performance while keeping operations on track.
Every shift brings something new, you’ll monitor work progress, troubleshoot any technical or scheduling issues, and make sure every handover is seamless. It’s a role that keeps you right at the centre of the action, ensuring our aircraft depart safely, on time, and in peak condition, day after day.
We’re looking for someone with solid hands‑on experience in engineering and maintenance operations, ideally with a background in base maintenance and some supervisory exposure. You’ll bring a strong understanding of airworthiness and Health & Safety legislation, backed by up‑to‑date technical knowledge and the necessary UK Part 66 B1, B2, and C licences on company aircraft.
Clear communication is key in this role, so you’ll be confident in raising issues and collaborating across teams while always keeping a strong customer focus. You’ll thrive in a fast‑moving environment, working both independently and as part of a team, adapting to change with ease and driving continuous improvement. Proficiency in IT and a flexible, solutions‑driven mindset will help you stay ahead and keep operations running smoothly.
This full‑time role will be based in Gatwick working DDNN pattern 12‑hour shifts. Occasional travel requirements to easyJet’s headquarters or network locations.
