Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Deputy Director to lead clinical informatics within the Transformation Directorate, shaping safe delivery of national programmes and ensuring patient benefits. You will provide a clinical voice within programme teams and engage with stakeholders to support clinicians delivering better care.

You will lead clinical informaticians, oversee governance, risk, and benefits delivery, and work across services to achieve outcomes in a large-scale change programme.

Qualifications

• Educated to Masters level or equivalent level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
• Registered and regulated health or care professional with high level specialist knowledge in a key area of practice, holding current professional clinical registration with an appropriate professional body.
• Desirable: trained and accredited clinical safety officer with current practice or undertaking training within 6 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical informaticians within the Transformation Directorate and maintain strategic overview of responsibilities.
• Provide clinical governance framework and direction for clinicians across services and programmes.
• Lead engagement with stakeholders and system users to ensure high-quality clinical input.
• Manage and deliver complex change and strategy development programmes in a political and complex environment.
• Present to internal/external stakeholders including executive sponsors and boards.
