Job summary

The Westgate School in Slough seeks a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring safeguarding arrangements are effective and compliant with statutory requirements. The DDSL will help identify and manage safeguarding concerns and work with pupils, families, staff and external agencies.

This term-time role requires availability for additional safeguarding duties during holidays and outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
• Willing to undertake Enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding screening.

Responsibilities

• Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure safeguarding arrangements are compliant and effective across the school.
• Identify, respond to and manage safeguarding concerns and supervise safeguarding cases in collaboration with pupils, families, staff and external agencies.
• Provide safeguarding leadership in the DSL's absence and support school leadership as required.
