Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd. is seeking an experienced Depot Operator for our Oil Fuel Depot in Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute.

You will join a team handling receipt, storage and supply of middle distillate fuels for HM Navy and other customers, operating tank farm and jetty equipment, and performing sampling and volume measurements. Role requires computer literacy, teamwork, and willingness to participate in an on-call roster with overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in hazardous operations is advantageous and safety training is essential.
• COMAH environment experience is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor receipt and issue of product, ensuring safe storage and distribution.
• Operate tank farm and jetty equipment per policies and good practice.
• Perform fuel sampling, testing, and volume measurement per HMRC rules.
• Operate pumps and valves and check equipment for bulk handling of petroleum liquids.
• Escalate issues to line management to obtain clarification or resources.
• Follow on-site emergency procedures and contribute to safety drills.
• Use computer software to control product movements and company information systems.

Job description

The role: An exciting opportunity has arisen as we seek to appoint an additional Depot Operator, to be based at our OFD (Oil Fuel Depot) at Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute.

Working as part of a team you will beresponsible for the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and supply ofmiddle distillate fuels for supply to HM Navy and other OPA customers;and normal day to day OFD support operations.

The Depot is a top tier COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards (2015), and all activities need to comply with these regulations. We therefore have a strong focus on ensuring no harm to people or the environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor the receipt/issue of product; ensure safe storage and distributionof product from vessels, pipelines, tanks, and road tanker loading,
• Operate tank farm and jetty equipment to company policies, procedures,and relevant good industry practice,
• Perform fuel sampling, testing, and volume measurement duties inaccordance with the OPA Fuel Quality Manual and HMRC bondedwarehouse obligations,
• Operate and perform basic checks of pumps, valves and other equipmentassociated with bulk handling of petroleum liquids,
• Escalate to line management any issues that may need clarification orfurther resources to resolve,
• Understand and respond accordingly to defined on-site emergencyprocedures,
• Operation of various computer software applications to control of product movements and the use of company business information systems.

The candidate: You must be computer literate, able to show you are amotivated team player, willing and capable to be part of a rostered “oncall”team and undertake overtime at short notice.

Experience in hazardous operations, possibly in a COMAH regulated environment could be an advantage, but is not essential, as you will receive extensive training in all aspects of the role including accredited Bulk Liquid Operations training (both on-site and residential) and you

must be medically fit to undergo Breathing Apparatus and ConfinedSpace training to support emergency response.

You should exhibit a strong understanding of health and safetyrequirements in the workplace as well as demonstrate a safe workingrecord, compliant with systems and procedures.A strong positive work ethos and attitude and the ability to remain calmand effective in difficult/emergency situations is essential.

You will also need to have a full (preferably clean) driving licence.Remuneration: A basic starting salary of £31,175 per annum, rising to£32,975 once fully trained, plus paid overtime, 30 days holiday plus bank/public holidays, life assurance, and DC pension scheme.
