You could well be an existing Depot or Commercial Manager looking for a new opportunity.

You’ll be passionate about people – leading your colleagues to deliver a safe, efficient and effective transport service to the incredible Guernsey community.

What will I have the opportunity to do?

Responsibilities

• Working within a dedicated team, the main ‘aim of the game’ is to ensure our services leave the depot on time, with our customer-focussed drivers ready and able to meet our customers’ expectations.
• To do this you’ll lead, motivate, develop and engage your colleagues, and develop a close and constructive partnership with engineering and commercial departments.
• The responsibility to respond quickly to any problems will be yours, so you’ll have the opportunity to make a direct and hugely positive impact on our customers and our business.
• Ultimately, the performance of the Guernsey bus operation will be in your hands – service, security, safety and standards…so this is an incredible career opportunity.
• And it won’t all be internally facing – there’ll be the opportunity to be involved with building relationships with key local partners.

Experience

• Transport Manager Qualification

• You’ll need to have good leadership capabilities, in particular within a changing environment.

• An excellent track record of high-quality fleet maintenance.

• Ability to lead a team to deliver a safe and cost-effective programme of preventative maintenance and repair.

• Excellent knowledge of health & safety, environmental and employment legislation.

• An innovative, customer focussed and commercially astute outlook.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills to build excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
