Job description

The post holder will be a key member of the Primary Care Team, providing professional medical/dental advice, and support to ensure that the highest standard of clinical care is delivered within General Dental Services (GDS) and wider dental services within the health Board. This includes support within Dental Collaboratives, Dental Access Portal (DAP), Inclusion via mentorship programme (IMP) and evaluation of practice's Quality Assurance Self-assessment (QAS) submissions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder provides support for dental practices and PCTG in clinical matters and helps provide Health Board with assurances around Dental care provided by dental contractors. The DPA role plays a fundamental part in the Health Board Quality and Safety framework and procedures. The post holder supports general dental practitioners with preparation for HIW inspection visits and will contribute to remodelling of care pathways to achieve better outcomes for patients and service users, with a focus on delivering care and support as close to home as possible and making best use of GDS resources and facilities. The post holder will provide clinical support to medical/dental staff across the Health Board working in GDS services promoting personal, professional and service development and building effective working partnerships with individuals and organisations in the local health and social care community. The post holder will support the development and delivery of effective professional performance and standards within the HB's clinical governance systems for those on the GDC register and DPL providing contracted or salaried services within SBUHB.
