NHS Shetland invites applications for a Qualified/Student Dental Nurse (Ref: 262028). This substantive, part-time post (35 hours per week) offers a Band 4 salary (£31,537–£34,303 per annum pro rata) with a Distant Islands Allowance (£2,578 p.a. pro rata).

The role includes chair-side duties across a public dental service in Lerwick or Brae, with NHS experience preferred. The post may involve cover in other locations and clinic types, with training towards a National Diploma in Dental Nursing for

Qualifications

• Qualified Dental Nurse registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and NHS dentistry experience.
• Student Dental Nurse will work towards the National Diploma in Dental Nursing; paid during training as per Annex 21 guidance.
• Flexible approach, good communication and teamwork; able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Carry out chair-side duties with dentists, therapists and hygienists.
• Work in modern surgeries within the Public Dental Service.
• Location based in Lerwick or Brae with occasional cover in other sites; potential hospital setting duties.
