Union Street Dental Care, Dundee (Private Practice)

We are looking to employ a Dental Hygienist to join our well-established private dental practice in Dundee city centre.

We are a growing private practice with great patient and employee relationships. We strive for excellent customer service and provide the best care to all of our patients on a daily basis.

Condition of employment: you will be required to be registered with the GDC and obtain a PVG check.

Hours are negotiable but ideally 4 days per week.

The salary and days/hours for this position are negotiable to the right candidate. We offer a competitive package, including wage, pension scheme and flexibility.

This is a mixed practice (95% PVT), consisting of 3 surgeries, using Exact management system and Ex Pro Digital X‑Ray system.

Appointment times are predominantly 30 minutes.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Assess oral health needs of patients and their families
  • Explain benefits of preventive care programs
  • Recommend appropriate treatment plans according to patient's specific needs and conditions
  • Take and record patient's medical histories and provide treatment instructions
  • Provide accurate and effective oral hygiene treatment including post‑visit instructions
  • Assist patients with oral health maintenance procedures such as tooth cleaning, sealants, etc.
  • Consult patients on current medical treatments for teeth and gums
  • Administer injections, prescribed medications
  • Educate patients on oral health care strategies
  • Manage dental emergencies/first aid supplies/materials
  • Manage patient records/preserve treatment progress data to provide complete documentation to the dentist on time
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene or equivalent
  • Consistent computer proficiency required; knowledge of dental software programs preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred

Job Types: Full‑time, Part‑time, Permanent

Pay: From £27.50 per hour
