A community support organization in Nottingham is seeking compassionate individuals to support people with dementia. The role involves engaging in activities both individually and in groups while providing personal care. A flexible approach and excellent communication skills are essential. Age UK Notts supports people with dementia using an innovative, person centred approach in order to optimize their feelings of wellbeing throughout the day, using the SPECAL approach.
You will support people with dementia through group or one to one activity. Alongside this you will provide personal care in a compassionate and sensitive manner.
The ability to interact with people with dementia in a friendly and authentic way is essential. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to support people in a kind and caring way. A flexible approach is needed, including covering for staff absence as required.
