Job summary

Caremark Harlow & Epping Forest is recruiting a Dementia Specialist Care Assistant to provide thoughtful, practical support to people living with dementia in their own homes. You will help with daily activities, meals, mobility and emotional reassurance.

Successful applicants will have patience, reliability, and a genuine commitment to compassionate care, with access to a vehicle for home visits and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Kindness, patience and respect in all interactions.
• Experience supporting people living with dementia preferred.
• Clear communication and accurate care records.
• Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures and confidentiality.
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently with team support.
• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for home visits.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to complete recruitment checks (DBS).

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and help each person feel heard and respected.
• Support families, carers and supervisors with consistent care.
• Assist with washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care maintaining dignity.
• Prepare meals and encourage eating/drinking per care plans.
• Assist with medication tasks within training and plan.
• Encourage meaningful activities and safe community access.
• Support mobility and independence where possible.
• Record wellbeing observations and report concerns promptly.
