Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of delivery pace, milestones, and outcomes for complex public sector projects.
• Identify delays and blockers early; drive rapid actions to maintain momentum.
• Lead stakeholder and client engagement; facilitate workshops and meetings (incl. travel to Birmingham ~1 day/month).
• Coach delivery teams to sustain momentum and high delivery standards.
• Operate with strong commercial awareness within a consultancy environment.

Delivery Manager - Public Sector Digital Transformation

• Role: Delivery Manager
• Location: Newcastle (1 day per month on-site)
• Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + Benefits

We are recruiting a Delivery Manager to join a leading IT consultancy, leading on a high-impact, large-scale public sector digital transformation programme based out of Newcastle.

What You'll Be Doing

• End-to-End Ownership: Take full accountability for delivery pace, milestones, and high-quality outcomes across complex public sector digital projects.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Uncover why delays happen, identify hidden blockers/dependencies early, and drive rapid actions to keep momentum going.
• Stakeholder & Client Leadership: Manage key public sector stakeholders, build trust, and facilitate high-value, collaborative workshops (including roughly 1 day per month travelling to Birmingham).
• Team Guidance: Support, coach, and challenge delivery teams constructively to maintain momentum and delivery standards.
• Commercial Strategy: Operate comfortably within a consultancy environment, bringing strong business acumen and an understanding of commercial drivers to every engagement.

What We're Looking For

• Proven Delivery Leadership: A strong track record as a Delivery Manager within digital, technology, or public sector transformations.
• Consultancy & Business Acumen: Experience operating in client-facing consultancy settings with strong commercial awareness and business maturity.
• Action-Oriented Mindset: Someone who drives progress, manages risk, and takes direct responsibility for pushing actions over the line.
• Workshop Facilitation: Strong skills in running engaging workshops, alignment sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
• Security Clearance: Must hold current SC clearance or meet all criteria to undergo SC vetting.
