Our Delivery Drivers

You’ll be the on-the-road ambassador for The Newt in Somerset, ensuring every order arrives on time, in perfect condition, and with warm, memorable service. From careful loading to smooth route execution and great conversation at the door, you’ll turn every delivery into a five-star experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide wholesale across Somerset
  • Hand deliveries directly to customers or place in safe, secure locations
  • Check orders and final packing before departure
  • Load and secure goods to protect product quality in transit
  • Complete daily van safety checks
  • Perform food-temperature checks at loading and throughout the day
  • Follow route plans via app, capturing proof of delivery
  • Support the warehouse team on quieter days

What we're looking for
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (category B – up to 3,500kg)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Confident, clear verbal communicator
  • Able to lift up to 16kg per item
  • Smart, presentable and naturally personable
Bonus points if you have
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver
  • Familiarity with route planning apps or phone-based navigation tools
  • Food safety or allergen training (we’ll happily train you if not!)

The Transport Department ensures the safe and efficient delivery of wholesale and home orders across Somerset. The team supports daily operations from loading to delivery, representing The Newt in Somerset through excellent service and professionalism.
