Job summary

Manpower UK in Loughborough is seeking a Delivery Driver to perform daily deliveries and collections to customer sites, following company routes and scheduling.

You will be responsible for vehicle checks, safety compliance, and maintaining good customer relations, with a pay rate of £19 per hour and overtime at 150% where applicable. This role requires flexibility with early starts and some overnight stays as needed.

Qualifications

• Clean, current driving license (Class C or higher) and safe driving record.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver.
• ADR / Dangerous Goods experience.
• Able to lift up to 25 kg and handle routes as required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Deliver/collect goods to/from customers’ premises and conform to site regulations.
• Plan routes and coordinate deliveries to meet customer needs.
• Adhere to MOT regulations, driving hours, and safety standards.
• Complete loading/delivery run sheets and report shortages or delays.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in vehicle and equipment, and handle hazardous substances safely.

Salary: GBP19 - GBP19 per hour

Delivery Driver

Location: Loughborough

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 04:00am-14:00pm but could vary

Pay Rate: £19 per hour (Overtime is paid at 150%. Typically, this is up to an average of 8-10 hours per week. Also includes a daily lunch allowance of £5.60)

Delivery/collection of company goods to/from customers/suppliers’ premises. To plan and operate routes/deliveries to company and customer satisfaction.

Summary of duties (not in order of priority)

• To carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects Deliver/collect company goods to/from customers/suppliers’ premises (carried out in accordance with customer site regulations)
• Establish and maintain good working relations with customers and report on same to managers as required.
• Adherent to M.O.T regulations (highway code, driving hours, ADR) Complete Loading/Delivery run sheet and report missed deliveries/shortages
• Assist the supervisor/manager with route development, planning and improvements. Co-ordinate and arrange empty chemical bottle collections from route customers.
• To sort parcels into mode, route and drop sequence
• To maintain a high standard of housekeeping - vehicle cab and delivery box
• To undertake other such responsibilities as may be required from time to time
• To operate and maintain equipment in accordance with relevant training.
• Comply with 'Driver code of conduct' guide card
• Responsible for always using safe-working practices when handling goods, equipment and hazardous substances.
• To actively support and maintain the departmental process and procedures.
• Required to change delivery routes at short notice and complete refresher training, maintaining knowledge of a minimum of three delivery routes.
• Undertake other duties as requested by management team

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• You are required to be smartly presented at all times, wearing the appropriate Drivers' uniform and Safety Footwear.
• You are required to be smartly presented, professional and courteous at all times when dealing with customers, customers contractors and suppliers.
• You are required to be physically fit, and able to lift / move loads up to 25kg.
• You will be required to carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• You may be required to change delivery routes at short notice and will need to be able to spend nights away, whilst completing 2-day runs. You will be required to complete refresher training to maintain knowledge of a minimum of three delivery routes.

Preferred Requirements

• Ideally a minimum of 6 months’ experience of multi-drop deliveries will be required
• Ideally you would hold a Class C driving license
• Ideally you would hold an ADR vocational license (transportation of hazardous substances)
• Ideally you would hold a Drivers CPC (Driver Certificate of Professions Competency)

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria

• Clean, current driving license, minimum Class C (7.5T) but ideally a Class C2 (7.5T+)
• Previous experience as a delivery driver
• ADR / Dangerous Goods experience
