A leading engineering firm in Portsmouth is offering a Digital Technology Solutions Apprentice role. You will be involved in writing code, conducting testing, and assisting deployment on projects, ultimately leading to a BSc (Honours) in Digital and Technology Solutions. Qualifications

Job title: Digital Technology Solutions Apprentice

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base and Broad Oak

Salary: Starting from £22,500 with annual progression through the scheme duration

What you’ll be doing
  • Writing quality code for plugins and to implement new features on test harnesses.
  • Assisting with the creation of deployment guide documents for the systems
  • Factory acceptance testing of software systems
  • Equipment setup for development and deployment
  • Research into software solutions that could be used for projects
  • Agile development process using Jira to progress through projects
  • On ship deployment of software systems for real life use
What Qualification will you get

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will obtain:

  • BSc (Honours) in Digital and Technology Solutions, with a specialism in Software Engineering
  • At the end of the apprenticeship you will obtain a nationally recognised Apprenticeship Completion Certificate

Qualification requirements
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4/A*-C which must include Maths & English & a Science/Technical Subject AND 1 of the following:
  • 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above. 1 subject must be Maths and 1 subject must be in Engineering or a Science/Technical subject
  • An equivalent level 3 vocational qualification (must be a STEM related subject that aligns to the scheme/area you are applying for and worth a minimum of 96 UCAS points)
