Qualifications

Defence Support Operative

Location: Wareham, Bournemouth, GB, BH20 6JA

Role Overview

As a Defence Support Operative, you’ll be maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, delivering critical support in a dynamic, high‑impact environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle‑specific standards, following authorised procedures.
  • Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off‑road, day and night.
  • Conduct preparatory tasks including minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling.
  • Manage collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required.
  • Support usage tracking and routine checks of stores and equipment.
Essential Experience
  • Proficient in IT with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communicator, confident in representing the department during meetings and site visits.
  • Must be 21 or older due to licensing requirements.
Qualifications
  • Full manual UK driving licence.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
