Job summary

Mace is seeking a talented Project Controls Manager to join the Defence team in Preston, delivering robust controls across a high-profile, regulated programme essential to national security.

The role focuses on schedule control, resource planning and decision-support, with responsibilities spanning design through commissioning and collaborating across engineering, procurement and commercial teams. Eligible for UK security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, quantity surveying or related discipline.
• Proven experience in a project controls or project management role within a consultancy or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of project controls methodologies and techniques.
• Experience using appropriate project controls systems and software.
• Good working knowledge of earned value analysis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end to end project controls management from design through to commissioning.
• Ensure clear visibility, accuracy and transparency of the project schedule, including critical path responsibility.
• Focal point for schedule control and progress measurement within the assigned scope.
• Support the Project Controls Lead and Project Managers in developing and implementing controls processes and systems.
• Coordinate and oversee across areas with engineering, PM, procurement and commercial teams.
• Support project schedule management and reporting, including cost and earned value reporting.
• Assist in leading, coaching and supporting members of the Project Controls team.
