Job summary

Mind Foundry is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing AI/ML systems for Defence and National Security. You will build production-ready ML solutions from prototyping to deployment in demanding environments.

You will work with ML scientists, software engineers and product teams to translate complex problems into robust, reliable systems, writing clean, well-tested code and contributing to engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Python programming with clean, well-tested, reproducible code.
• Experience with production infrastructure (Docker, Linux, CI/CD, MLOps, cloud platforms, model serving).
• Familiarity with modern ML libraries and tooling; ability to select pragmatic approaches for real-world problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and iterate ML prototypes and production-ready capability for Defence and National Security use cases.
• Translate research outputs and customer problems into maintainable, testable ML systems.
• Work with real-world data sources (noisy, high-volume, streaming) to create robust solutions.
• Collaborate with ML scientists, software engineers and product teams to deliver credible, user-focused solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented code and contribute to engineering standards and reproducibility.
• Support evaluation, validation and communication of model behaviour to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
