Job summary

Public Sector Resourcing, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 7-month hybrid contract based in Bristol.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong stakeholder management, and SC clearance eligibility. You will resolve technical queries, support Technical Review Meetings, and drive engineering solutions within regulated defence environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable equivalent in complex engineering/defence environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across levels including senior leadership and suppliers.
• SC Clearance is essential or eligible; preference for active clearance where possible.

Responsibilities

• Technical query and issue resolution (emails, calls, etc.).
• Representation at formal and informal Technical Review Meetings; note taking and SME advice.
• Implement engineering solutions addressing Engineering, Technical Documentation and Data issues.
• Fault finding, diagnostics and Root Cause Analysis with OPDEF support.
• Liaise with PPA Obsolescence POD to resolve obsolescence issues.
• Monitor in-service performance data to identify reliability concerns and drive investigations.
