Clyde & Co is seeking an enthusiastic NQ–2 years’ PQE Junior Associate / Associate to join our Defence Insurance team in Belfast. You will handle a broad range of litigation and work closely with insurer clients and self-insured organisations.

Qualifications

• Be a newly qualified solicitor or have up to ~2 years’ PQE.
• Exposure to personal injury, insurance or litigation during training or after qualification.
• Interest in defendant insurance litigation career development.
• Be organized and able to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoy analysing legal issues and developing knowledge.
• Committed to delivering a professional, responsive client service.
• Comfortable working in a busy, supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a varied caseload on behalf of insurers and self-insured organisations.
• Carry out investigations with policyholders and take witness statements.
• Review medical records and reports.
• Identify information requirements and liaise with relevant parties to obtain documentation.
• Prepare reports, correspondence and advice to clients.
• Work in line with client service levels, reporting requirements and court deadlines.
• Draft legal documents and provide practical advice to clients.
• Assist with interlocutory proceedings and client meetings.
• Attend and appear at court where appropriate with supervision.
• Collaborate with Partners and colleagues on complex matters.
• Develop relationships with clients and contribute to high-quality service.
• Support marketing and business development initiatives within the team.
