Job summary

A leading defence organisation based in Bolton is seeking a Skilled Electrical Wiring Operator for a 12-month contract. The role involves fault diagnosing and repairing bespoke cabling, maintaining test and measuring equipment, and conducting safety systems testing within a supportive and inclusive manufacturing environment. Applicants must have relevant qualifications in electrical engineering and experience in wiring assembly. This position offers an hourly rate of £28.35, increasing to £29.70 after 12 weeks, plus overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Certified in IPC 620 & Dynamic Cabling preferred.
  • Possess experience in electrical wiring and assembly.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace or defence industry desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Fault find and repair cable assemblies.
  • Carry out surface mount repair on CCAs.
  • Maintain and repair test/measuring equipment.
  • Conduct PAT testing across the manufacturing site.
  • Interrogate drawings during fault finding.
  • Test safety systems of Test & Measuring equipment.
  • Provide technical support for efficient servicing.
  • Maintain excellent workspace disciplines.
  • Ensure high degree of tool control and FOD practices.
  • Assist with maintenance of manufacturing aids.
