Responsibilities
  • Ownership and oversight of the claims handling team, including management of team workload.
  • Managing a mixture of remote and office‑based claims handlers.
  • Development of claims handlers to achieve client SLA’s via support and coaching.
  • Ensure a high level of staff engagement.
  • Attend Client Review Meetings where appropriate.
  • Conducting regular performance and audit reviews, including annual PDRs.
  • Managing claims handler absences.
  • Continuous improvement focus leading excellent customer service and technical delivery of claims.
  • Complaint escalation point.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicator targets are reached and maintained.
  • Oversight of payment audit approval process to defined limits.
  • Involvement in recruitment and interview processes for claims handler/administrator roles.
Knowledge and Abilities
  • A genuine passion for people management.
  • The confidence and gravitas to act as an efficient escalation point for claims and team‑related queries / complaints.
  • Experience of Customer Service and Claims Management in an insurance background.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • The ability to organise own workload.
