Grade: Ops

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Based at Bolton BL1 2TF. Working away from home and travelling throughout the UK will be required as part of the role.

What you'll be doing
  • Assist the Site Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily decommissioning activities, managing site-based teams, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and team meetings while monitoring work progress and reporting on operational performance
  • Implement and enforce safe systems of work, permit-to-work procedures, and conduct risk assessments and method statements
  • Monitor and control radiological, chemical, and conventional hazards on site, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ensure adherence to CDM Regulations, Nuclear Site Licence Conditions, and relevant industry standards
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions and maintaining accurate records and regulatory compliance reports
  • Coordinate waste segregation, packaging, and disposal activities in accordance with waste management plans
  • Liaise with clients, regulators (ONR, EA, HSE), and stakeholders, managing site logistics, equipment, and resource allocation
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed throughout all decommissioning activities
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting a strong safety culture and adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and budgets
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience in decommissioning supervision within nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • CCDO Gold Card
  • Experience with permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • SC Security Clearance or ability to obtain
