Job description

As decants manager, you'll be leading and managing all aspects of the decant process for customers affected by repairs that require a temporary move, this may be due to safety concerns or issues that result in the property being inhabitable until repairs are completed. Customers will need to be supported throughout the process, decants will need to be in line with timescales, compliance, legislation, policy and best practice.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the decant service, ensuring customers are supported throughout their journey
  • Develop and implement decant strategies that meet the requirements of VIVID standards.
  • Coordinate schedules to guarantee timely, compliant, and cost‑effective moves
  • Implement strategies and processes that meet VIVID standards and regulatory requirements
  • Drive for continued efficiency of our decant repairs & maintenance service when benchmarked across the sector and with other comparable providers
  • Collaborate across teams and act as an ambassador for customer safety and satisfaction
  • Use data and insight to improve service delivery and reduce costs
  • Manage external contractors, budgets, and performance targets
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience managing decant or large‑scale relocation programmes
  • Strong understanding of housing law, decant policies and compensation frameworks
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within building maintenance or a similar environment, ideally within the social housing sector
  • Experience in property services, compliance, or housing operations
  • Strong supply chain and contract management skills, with the ability to manage complex contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Ability to manage risk, drive efficiency, and deliver outstanding customer outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid.

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring safety? We're looking for a Decants Manager to lead and manage all aspects of the decant process for customers who need to temporarily move due to major repairs or safety concerns.

Contractually based out of our Portsmouth or Basingstoke office, this is a full‑time role, working 37 hours per week on a 12‑month fixed term basis. This role requires travel across various locations throughout Hampshire.
